Tokyo Number 9

Peter Jones Righteously debuting as a number one, this kicks of with a blast - and you just know it's not going to put a foot wrong. It's been a long time since it came out with just the live record a couple of years ago - I do hope Frank gets another group together and we're treated to some more joy like this!

Rob O. Every now and then a musician comes along that has that certain "it" and it's apparent as soon as you hear that first note. Frank Catalano certainly has the credentials and history making him the experienced pro that he has molded into. With drummer Jimmy Chamberlin (Smashing Pumpkins fame) this music explodes. Wish there was a physical recording, but this will have to do. This is the first but not the last purchase of Frank's discography. I am hooked! Favorite track: Softly.

about

Following the success of Love Supreme Collective, God's Gonna Cut You Down and Bye Bye Blackbird, Ropeadope Records is proud to release a trio of Live recordings chronicling Frank Catalano and Jimmy Chamberlin's tours including shows in Japan, Chicago and New York. The raw energy that resonates between the musicians and the audience is something that can't be put into words but can surely be heard and felt on these recordings. It is exciting to hear the difference between the studio albums and live performances. The first to be released will be Tokyo Number 9 which is the culmination of 8 concerts in Tokyo last summer. We had so many requests from concert goers to release this music. The good vibes emanate throughout the songs. Thanks so much for being a part of it!!!
